FAQs

What can therapy do for me?

Ask yourself this: What do you envision for yourself in your job, career, relationships ect…? Now, what is holding you back from achieving it? Emotional Intelligence, (EQ), is our ability to understand and effectively respond to ourselves and others. If you struggle with feeling stuck, discouraged, and alone, therapy can enhance your personal development through building your EQ. Therapy provides the opportunity to learn and improve upon your emotional intelligence and relationship with yourself and others, giving you better choices to effectively navigate life’s many challenges. EQ helps us regulate our emotions, develop healthy relationships, and develop cognitive flexibility so we can understand what is holding us back and navigate setbacks differently. Emotional intelligence, (EQ), is a core component of overall health (Martins et al., 2010) as well as an indicator of personal and professional success. Researchers indicate EQ may be a stronger predictor for success than IQ and higher levels of EQ are related to improved mood, self-esteem, relationship health, and overall health (Gallagher, & Vella-Brodrick, 2008; Martins, Ramalho, & Morin, 2010).
